From Redcliffe to Woodford, from Bribie Island to Mount Glorious, Moreton Bay region has become recognised as one of the great places to live. The region boasts an astonishing variety of natural beauty from the beach and bay to pristine rainforests.

The challenge following amalgamation for Moreton Bay Regional Council has been to bring together the many diverse and independent communities with their rich and proud histories.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said the community expects and quite rightly deserves to see results.

"As soon as I decided to stand for Mayor, I accepted that my job – and the job of each of my councillor colleagues – was to make the new arrangements work for the community.

I am excited about Moreton Bay region's future and the challenges ahead.

I thank all residents of Moreton region for their support, patience and trust as we get on with the job of building a better council and a stronger community.
